toyota tacoma
Are you looking for a toyota tacoma?
Q: when do i need to make the decision to get a lift on my toyota tacoma?
i have a 2008 toyota tacoma with the standard 16 inch rims on it. if i went to 18 inch rims, do i have to get a lift?
ok well so how many inches can i typically go up on the tire size before they start rubbing?
A: Nope. The rim size has nothing to do with the outside diameter of the tire. You can put 22s on your Tacoma with no issues unless you get bigger tires. You can get a leveling kit for your truck for only $100 and fit 33×12.50 tires on it.
Q: How do people extend the quarter panels way out on a toyota tacoma 4×4 dunes prerunner (like a trophy truck)?
a normal toyota tacoma has flush quarter panels (wheel wells) but when someone wants to take it to the dunes and they make it look like a trophy truck with the bulged out wheel wells… how do they do that? to see what i mean – google image search tacoma desert prerunner and look at the bottom right picture. Thanks
A: They use the fiberglass fenders, check out http://www.glassworksunlimited.com/ They have the ones you are looking for.

Q: Is the 2007 Toyota tacoma 2WD access cab worth the money?Does anyone own this model?
I live in Texas and the weather here is hot and unpredictable. I was thinking of purchasing a 2007 Toyota Tacoma access cab, 2.7 liter 4cyl engine, 2WD with SR5 package. Is this truck worth buying if I am only using it to travel to work 40-65 miles daily, haul groceries, and moving furniture for relatives. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. I am planning to make the purchase in December 2007 to take advantage of the year-end sales. I also don’t plan on financing through the dealership. Any advise for financing is also appreciated. Thanks…
A: I have that truck same motor with auto trans. It is very comfy not cramped up inside and I am 6 foot 5. I had got 26.8 MPG with only 300 mile on truck with AC on and windows closed at 62 mph. I am very happy with how good the ac work pumps out good cold air fast. It also tows My ATV nicely and has good passing power on freeway. You will enjoy it.

A: nissan frontier
Q: which car would you buy – 2002 nissan extera or toyota tacoma?
my dad are saying that toyota tacoma is better then nissan extera, but i like extera. we had nissan altima and it always gives us problems. i guess that is why my dad think tacoma are better. please share your experience and advice. thank you in advance.
A: With a used car, it’s gonna depend on how she was treated / maintained. Toyota & Nissan are both well made.
Q: what is better. . toyota tacoma extended cab or dodge dakota extended cab?
I want to buy a new truck. I have my eye on a 2005 toyota tacoma extended cab in blue. But I seen a dodge dakota extended cab in black. Is one better than the other?
A: The 05 Tacoma is pretty solid; I used to work at a Toy dealer, and they didn’t see to have many problems. Can’t go wrong with the Tacoma…honestly, I think they’re built better than Tundras as well.

Q: is a well maintained toyota tacoma small truck with 200k mileage worth buying?
I heard from someone that toyota truck can go 300k or more. I saw on craigslist a company is downsizing and selling their claimed well maintained small tacoma at a reasonable price. I am trying to get an idea in general how many more mileage I can get out of a 200k-mile truck. thanks.
A: Any vehicle can go 300k, but few do. Guessing how many miles are left is just that. A guess.
Q: How to improve the gas mileage on a 2008 toyota tacoma??
hi just recently bought a 2008 toyota tacoma and i was wondering if any1 can give me any advice on improving the gas mileage on it. it really kills gas especially on the start up. so plz any help would greatly appreciated
A: wells it’s a new engine and until you get a good 15,000 miles on it then mileage will slowly start to improve.
Also do not use 4×4 unless you really need it it makes a difference by upto 3 miles per gallon.
also do not force the truck to overdrive keep it at regular drive that makes a difference of upto 2-5 mpg as well!
hope this helps!
Q: what is a good affordable suspension lift for my toyota tacoma?
it is a 2006 toyota tacoma acces cab and is pretty low to the ground, i am thinking about getting 33 inch tires so does anyone have any advice on a good lift and at that how many inches i should go to look good and not to high?
2WD but i am definitely going to lift it
A: Is it 2WD, 4WD or a Prerunner first off.
If it’s 2WD stock don’t even bother lifting it.
If it’s a 4WD or Prerunner look at getting a spacer lift. It’s cheap and with a 2 inch spacer lift you should be able to run 33’s.

http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/52907.html
Is it the Prerunner Model?
If it’s not then you’re going to spend a TON of money. Because you’ll have to convert it to a 4WD style suspension. Which the 2WD does not have. It has a suspension for street tires.
It’s possible, but completely not worth it.
You could sell your Truck buy a Prerunner or 4WD lift it and still have money left over than if you were to try and lift a 2WD.
Q: Can a 4 cylinder engine hadle a 4 wheel drive Toyota Tacoma; or is it necesary to have a V6 in a Tacoma?
I am buying a 4 wheel drive Tacoma and i am considering the 4 cylinder engine. I was wondering if the 4 cylinder engine can preform properly or is it necesary to have a V6 on a 4 wheel drive truck, such as a Toyota Tacoma?
A: Do you tow and or haul alot? Do you drive in a very hilly area? If yes get the v6, its not gonna be that much worse on gas but will give you more torque and horsepower than the 4. If no then get the four, it will be good on gas, plus you can still carry some stuff like lawn equipment or dressers, just dont tow a ‘69 impala up a 1 mile straight up hill!
Q: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A NICE TOYOTA TACOMA IN TEXAS?
Im looking for a nice toyota tacoma for my son, i live in texas and im looking to make a drive this upcoming weekend to buy it, does anyone know any good websites or dealership location or names that you would know of? IM LOOKING FOR A 05-09 AND FOR GOOD MILEAGE AND PRICE OF COURSE!
A: I live in TX, and this is a big honking state, so limit your search to what you would be comfortable driving to. Start and end with autotrader.com; that site can focus on your location, type, size and price of truck, etc.
Q: is it legal to have a 21/2 year old riding in car seat in 97 toyota tacoma 4 cylinders?
i just bougt a 97 toyota tacoma single cabin and a believe it is only for 3 passangers ,but i have a 2 1/2 yeard old kid and i was wonderind if it is legal to have my kid riding in it with her car seat?
A: No.
Because if the airbag deploys it will crush all the bones in her face.
if it doesn’t smother her to death (DUE TO: the crushed facial bones & the powder that is released from the air bags).
you never know what another driver is going to do.
you should have thought about what was safe for your kid before you bought it.
its not safe.
this is why kids under 12 years old shouldn’t ride in the front seat.

Why are air bags dangerous to children age 12 and under?
Air bags inflate at speeds up to 200 mph — faster than the blink of an eye — to protect adults in a front-end collision.
That blast of energy can severely hurt or kill passengers and drivers who are too close to the air bag. An infant’s head in a rear-facing safety seat is directly in front of the air bag as it breaks through the dashboard and instantly inflates.
Even some forward facing child safety seats could possibly place the child within range of the air bag before it is fully inflated.
Also, if a child is unbelted, or too small for the lap and shoulder belt to fit properly, or wriggling around or leaning forward, there is a danger that the child will be too close to the dashboard during that instant that the air bag begins to inflate.
How can an air bag work so well for adults, but hurt children in the front passenger seat?
An average size adult who is correctly belted is not likely to come in contact with the air bag until it is fully inflated. A fully inflated air bag spreads the forces of the crash across a wide area of the body. Even an unbelted adult will probably come in contact with the air bag at the chest area after the bag has at least partially inflated. For greatest protection, both the driver and front passengers should be buckled up and the seats moved back as far as practical to allow ample space for the air bag to expand.
Whether in the front seat or rear seat, children can suffer serious or fatal injuries if they wear a shoulder belt wrong, such as under the arm or behind the back. A child who is too short for the shoulder belt (for example, the belt cuts across the neck or face) should always use a convertible or toddler safety seat (if the child is under 40 pounds and 40 inches) or a belt-positioning booster seat (if the child is over 40 pounds and 40 inches). Remember that a belt-positioning booster seat must be used with both the lap and shoulder belts, preferably in the rear seat, which is always safer than the front seat.
***** Unbelted or improperly belted children can easily slide off the seat during pre-crash braking, throwing them against the dashboard where the air bag can strike them on the head or neck with tremendous force before it is fully inflated.
did you read the starred section? so even if you turn off the airbag, your child can be thrown against the dashboard (or even through the windshield)
DO YOU NEED ANOTHER REASON???
Airbag Kills One Year-Old Girl
12/02/96
The Associated Press reported that an airbag deployed in a fender-bender accident in Boise, Idaho, decapitating a one year-old girl. Police said the girl, Alexandra Greer, was riding with her mother, Rebecca Blackman, in the front seat of a Volkswagen Jetta when the accident occurred. The child was sitting in a forward-facing child safety seat when her mother rear-ended a car that had just entered a mall parking lot. The Jetta’s passenger side air bag deployed at full force, killing the child. Referring to the airbag, Police Lieutenant Tim Rosenvall said, “it otherwise would have been a minor traffic accident.”
The accident involving Alexandra brings the toll of children killed by airbags in low speed crashes they could have otherwise survived to thirty-two. Twenty adults, mostly smaller women, have died in similar crashes.
Public concern about the dangers that airbags pose to children has led the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to require strongly worded warning labels about air bags in new cars. The federal agency is also considering changing laws that govern the installation and mechanics of airbags. The agency warns motorists that children under 12 can be killed by a passenger-side air bags and should ride in the back seat with seat belts fastened. Small adults and children who sit in front of air bags should wear seat belts, and parents should never put a baby in a rear-facing child seat in front of an air bag.

I have seen many parents allow their child to put the shoulder-part of the belt behind them because “its too uncomfortable for their child” & I have even seen kids do this when they are in the car & the parent isn’t even aware of it.
To Keep kids safe: Kids need to be in car seats/ booster seats until the age of 8. Many states are starting to update their laws about this. At one time it was only to the age of 4 but states are changing this because of all the injuries all of the Emergency Room doctors & nurses have seen that kids suffer/die from during car accidents.
A person’s child is more important than a truck. My advice is to get rid of the truck.
