Someone drilled the car door locks out of my ford ranger and I can’t get into my truck. I was wondering how much it would cost and who I should have install new car door locks? Do I go to an auto body shop? The dealership? I have no idea who to go to and how much this is gonna be.

A: It is part of the driver’s seat assembly. If you remove it you will have the hole on the right side of the seat. There’s no cover made for it.

EDIT: Don’t know who gave me the thumbs down, but I know what I’m talking about. I’ve had my seat out of my Ranger. Remove the armrest and you’ll find a hard plastic insert with sharp edges that can cut your arm if not careful.

A: For a 2.3 engine, you can go with a Cols Air Intake and a high flowing muffler…. these are the 2 cheapest easiest ways, also get some platinum plugs…..

A: Have you checked under the hood? A lot of manufacturers will put a diagram of how the serpentine belt is fitted under there. If not you will probably need to get a shop manual for your particular model.

Q: How do I adjust the steering in a 94 ford ranger?
I have a 1994 ford ranger 4 cly and the steering wheel has several inches of play on either side. Once you turn the wheel past that point the steering I’d as rift and responsive as it should be. Is there an adjustment I can make or am I going to have I replace the steering box? Any help is much appreciated.

A: First look under the truck as someone wiggles the steering wheel to see where the play is. More than likely you have loose tie rods, or a idler arm. I have never seen a steering box need adjustment on a Ranger!

A: The 2.3 in the Ranger is pretty much the same as in the Mustang or the T-bird. The best place to go if you want to find performance parts for that engine, is Racer Walsh. Hope that helps!

i just got a 1998 ford ranger 2.5l. im planning on getting a gibson full exhaust, k&m cold air intake and dynomax headers. if anyone can help me out with making my truck sound better i’d greatly appreciate any advice. thanks!

A: Be VERY conservative on exhaust pipe diameter or you will destroy torque and mileage. That little engine will be more than happy with a single 2 inch exhaust. I think the smallest that Flowmaster makes a muffler for is 2 1/4. That will work but is on the big side for you.

I stumbled across a 2000 Ford Ranger pick up at a used car lot, i just drove by, but didnt check the mileage, but it was $2695.00. My questions are is this a good price, and would this be a relilable car for a 16 year old kid to drive to school everyday?

The truck had 150000 miles on it but no big problems,The rusty frame was the problem with my truck.

How hard is it to install a 3″ body lift kit on a 2002 Ford Ranger. Would you recommend doing it yourself or taking it to someone.

A: If you have never done one before, take it to a pro. Park brake cable needs to be re-routed, Brake lines lengthened if 4X4 floor shift lever needs extension. Will need stronger alternator to power electric fans because fan shroud will no longer fit the engine compartment, You may need different top radiator hose because of interference by idler pulley the wiring harness will stretch far enough with 3′ and do not forget the bumper adapters for proper look. The bed is the easy part
