Q: How many hours to replace an engine in Chevy Suburban?
Does anyone have access to All Data or know how long (how many hours) it takes to replace an engine in a 2001 Chevy Suburban with a 6.0? Thanks
A: Good luck. Last time I changed the engine in my ‘88 GMC it took me 10
Q: Where is the AC low pressure port on my 1995 Chevy Suburban?
Im wanting to recharge my ac in my 1995 chevy suburban. I have a can of R134 to recharge my ac and is says to hook up the hose to the low pressure port.
A: i charged my oldsmobile,s AC and i went to that small canister back by the firewall. it has a small valve on the side which i hooked up the hose to and charged it from there.
Q: are the front end of a 97 gmc suburban and a chevy suburban interchangeable?
im about to get my brother in law’s dad’s 1997 GMC suburban.
its a great looking car but i dont like the front end.
i like how the chevy’s look better in their front end with the grill and the emblems and stuff.
my question is, could i go to a junk yard, find a front end off of a 1997 chevy suburban, and put it on the front end of a 1997 GMC suburban??
does anyone know?
A: Except for trim pieces, yes. It’s only sheet metal.
Q: could the seat belt chime module really make a 1989 chevy suburban not run?
My cousins 1989 chevy suburban is not running. She has been told by a couple different people that the reason is her seat belt chime module. It is a small black box with about 7 electrical outlet looking prongs. This just doesn’t seem to make any sense to me. Why would this have anything to do with her car not running? And about how much would something like this cost from a junk yard?
A: No…
The seat belt chime is in a completely separate system from all other systems.
First, Check for two things
Since we know its getting air, you only have to ensure it gets fuel and a spark.
Check the carb for fuel. If you smell it, Great…It narrows it down to spark.
If not, The problem could be either fuel pump or in the carburetor (needle stuck closed).
If the carb is the problem, you can get a rebuild kit for around 30.00 and rebuild it yourself – Very easy.
If no spark Check the Coil, distributor cap, rotor, plugs (fouled out), and maybe the wires (doubtful).
As a last resort, the computer could be bad too but also doubtful.
Good Luck…
Q: Can I tow a camper trailer that weight 6210 uvw with a 1997 chevy suburban 1500?
I have a 1997 chevy suburban with a 5.7 Liter vortex engine, and I have a 34′ Forest River Cherokee camper that weight 6210 uvw. I haver a weight distribution package and a sway control and also electric brakes, I was just wondering will this be too much weight to carry safely with this type of vehicle.
A: This is going to be a tough one.The max towing on the 1997 suburban with the 5.7 liter engine is 6000 lbs.The weight distribution hitch is going to be a big plus.Just for safety sake you should talk to one of local towing companys. For no other reason just to make sure the tow is not going to damage the engine or drive train.Best of luck.
Q: Does anyone have a repair manual for a 92 Chevy Suburban?
I have a 92 chevy suburban with headlight problems. I flip the switch and the lights will not come on. The dashboard and parking lights work, and I have checked all the fuses as well as the wiring to the relays to make sure nothing is melted (fried). I don’t have the money to take it to a car shop and have it looked at. This is my only vehicle.
A: Headlights don’t use fuses. It’s a circuit breaker in the light switch. Buy a 12-volt test light, check if the headlamps are getting power, and if not, work your way back through the circuit, including the relay.

Q: I have a Chevy Suburban ‘06 that keeps displaying “engine power reduced”. No power to run. What shld I do?
I am in the Philippines and I bought this Suburban brand new in the US and shipped it to Phils. I sent it to Chevy dealer and they said it’s alternator. When we test battery charging, it was at least 13.5v, so I strongly doubt alternator is the problem. I checked with other forums and most said something about grounding. Pls tell me what electrical connection I should look for to check and correct this problem.
A: If the vehicle is under a GM warranty, I would let the dealer fix it for free. Look up your GM service bulletins and recalls:

Q: How to fix rear doors on a 1991 Chevy suburban?
My husband attempted to fix the latch on one of the rear doors on our suburban and ended up not fixing it, now we can not get the rear doors open at all. We have 1991 Chevy suburban 4×4 3/4 ton V8, hopefully someone can tell us or point us in the right direction on how to fix them?
the doors were not lining up so when it rained the water would leak in, so he tightened the latch at the top so it would pull the top of the door tighter, he said the latch was loose originally so he must have done it to tight, i’m not sure though.
A: What was the original problem? And what did he do to try to fix it?
If it won’t open at all I would assume the control rods are improperly connected, or not connected at all. Or the latch could be bad. Pull the interior door panel off and check all of the rods that run to the latch and to the handles, make sure to check both ends. make sure the plastic clips that hold them in are in one piece, and that they are all properly fastened. and make sure the rod from the door lock isn’t bent or improperly attached. Check the lock levers on the latch to make sure none of them are stuck, make sure they are in the unlocked position. If they are moving, find the rod that runs from the outside handle and push the lever on the latch that it attaches to by hand, if it pops open from that lever you likely have a bad or disconnected handle. If not, have someone lift upward on the door from the outside, if the latch is stuck due to pressure from bad door pins this may let you release it. If none of the levers on the latch will release it, try pushing or pulling on the door while pushing the levers. If that still will not un-stick the mechanism, start taking the latch apart until you can get enough parts out to release it, and go get a new latch.
Q: how do i change the window motor on a 1987 chevy suburban?
ive got an 87 chevy suburban with a non functional drivers power window. the switch works because when i turn the key to “on” and move the switch, the “service engine soon” light dims a little bit. ive taken the door panels off and disconnected the motor, but that’s about it. anyone have any tips or pics or insutrctions or anything about how to get the motor out? any help is appreciated
A: if the window is up it’s a walk in the park , feel the other end of the motor from the plug in you should feel three screw heads remove these and the motor should come out with a little work. if it’s down good luck. on some models there are three little div its on the inner door frame these are where the bolt heads are located and will require a drill to gain access to them. other wise you will have to remove the entire window regulator
Q: how much does a rear end for a chevy suburban cost?
Coming from the junkyard, a rear end for a chevy suburban, 350 motor.
A: Asking the salvage yard is your best bet there. The year of Suburban and the gear ratio are going to be things that effect the price too. Also lug pattern makes a difference so your wheels fit. The price could vary from hundreds to thousands unfortunately. You may need to call a GM dealer to get the VIN decoded for the gear ratio. It also matters if it is 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive.
Good luck to you
Q: I want to buy a Chevy Suburban with 9 seats?
I am looking to purchase a nine seat Chevy Suburban 2001-2006 with leather and the fold down cup holder in the center front seat that gives you a 9th seat. These are really hard to find what is my most probable way to find one? I have called several dealers and they are few and far between. Would finding a small dealer who would watch at auction and call me be my best bet? If so what is a reasonable fee for this service? Any other suggestions?
A: yes buy a chevy suburban with the bucket seats, take it out and put in a bench seat up front, thats about the only way to end up with a suburban with what you are looking for most of them were five, or 8 passengers.

Q: How long is the Chevy Suburban?
How long is the Chevy Suburban?

Q: How do I change the a/c clutch on a 1995 Chevy 1500 suburban?
1995 Chevy Suburban 5.7 L two wheel drive
A: first you have to have the right pulley puller and spanner wrench to hold the clutch plate in place. You can usually rent these at Autozone or Advance or Murray’s. You pay for them up front, and then when you are done with them you bring them back and they refund your money, as long as you didn’t destroy them. You have to pull the clutch drive plate and pulley off and then I think the clutch coil is held on by a snap ring. In my opinion, if you have never done this type of work before, it might be worth your time and frustration to just swap out the a/c compressor with a used one from the salvage yard. they are available for anywhere between $50-$100. You might have to take the compressor off the engine anyways so the system would still need to be recharged. I’ve had mixed results with the pullers from the parts stores. sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. I’ve had problems finding the right one to fit the compressors I’ve worked on. It’s a lot easier and quicker to just exchange the compressor.
Q: 96 Chevy Suburban Front Evaporator Core Change?
I have a 96 Chevy Suburban with a front evaporator core leak and need to change it. I’m fairly mechanically inclined, though I’ve never changed one. Anyone have a good website link where I could see a schematic breakdown to change it out, or helpful ideas? Thanks for any advice.
A: Depending on where you live and if there is a Auto parts store there such as Advance Auto Parts, O’riley’s, Auto Zone. You can go there and use the repair manual on your vehicle. They usually do not have a problem letting people use them to find an answer.
I work for Advance Auto Parts In Paris Tn. and I know they have a web site that you can check out. They even have Q & A section. Check them out they might be able to help
